The Fall Season is one like no other and allows for an array of creative decorations. While choosing your decor for the season, why not keep some money in your pocket by utilizing some items that can be found in your own backyard? Of course you’ll be purchasing some items from local stores, because they are just too great to pass up, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a bit creative with what you already have at your disposal.
When wandering into your yard, the crisp Fall weather will welcome you and you can search around for things that you can make something out of. Take a peek at some of the items we think would make for some great Fall time decor:
Leaves
Once those leaves fall to the ground, their colors fill your yard in beautiful shades of Fall. Instead of just raking all of them, grab a bunch to bring inside with you. Depending on what you’re making, you can collect all sorts of colors or stick to one color if it matches the interior of your home better. You can then simply stick them in a jar or make a garland out of them to hang above your fireplace!
Branches
Instead of picking up all those branches that have fallen and throwing them away, put them to good use! Most decor ideas for branches require them to be placed with another item, such as inside a vase along with some seasonal flowers or leaves. They are also a popular item to use for centerpieces – so dress up that dining room table with some outdoorsy fun!

Acorns
Acorns can be used for a variety of things and are small enough to fit inside a jar, which makes decorating with them quite simple.
Pumpkins
Whether you’re growing them yourself or picking them from a local patch, pumpkins are one of the best Fall decor items. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes, which makes decorating with them even more fun! They can be carved and painted to switch up the decor a bit. If you purchase mini pumpkins, those can easily be thrown into a jar or vase for a quick touch of Fall!
Pine Cones
Using pine cones as decor adds a nice touch to any arrangement and also makes for a great filler item. If you have a jar or vase set up but it looks like it’s missing something, add some pine cones and watch as it instantly looks more complete!
